Angel Meadow (2 hectares) was added to the Green in 2012 as part of a planning permission granted for a house at George Maltings. It was the final link that enabled the all-weather track to be built which links the Town centre to the Blyth Road Industrial Estate and provides a new route for National Cycle Route 1 to enter the Town from the south.
The Town River runs along one side and the New Reach towpath along another.
A substantial area of woodland was planted by local people, some of it by children from Edgar Sewter Primary School. Originally grazed, it has been unmanaged for the last 20 years. There are some fine willows at the eastern end.
