The two outstanding historical features surviving on the Green are the remains of:
- the Blyth Navigation
established in 1761 this waterway carried heavy goods and flourished for a 100 years before being overtaken by the coming of the railways.
- the Southwold Railway
a narrow gauge railway which ran between Halesworth and Southwold from 1879 until 1929.
